A high-quality helideck surface is crucial for any helicopter operations at offshore platforms. Friction Test is a method where a qualified operator will do the testing on the helideck surface to identify the surface friction value and further decides if the surface is fit for a safe operation based on the data collected. This testing shall be carried out with specific equipment that will meet the testing criteria outlined in CAP437 and CAD 1406 Vol II (For helideck operation in Malaysia Waters).

SYLMAX HCS is utilising the helideck Micro GripTester® manufactured by Findlay Irvine
Ltd. which is widely used throughout the globe. Our operator’s trainers are trained at
the manufacturer’s factory in Penicuik, Scotland.

We have more than 20 years of experience in dealing with various types of landing area standards and regulations. Our Helicopter Landing Area Certificates are globally accepted by most helicopter operators.

The helideck inspection reports from SYLMAX HCS are extensively used by OGP and helicopter operators alike. Our reports are comprehensive, detailed and would be the best means to expedite the process of getting clearance for helicopter operations. We are well-recognised by the Helideck Certification Committee (HCC) and CAAM to carry out   inspections and the processing of the helideck certification for all helicopter
landing areas. In addition, we also act as an advisory capacity for various international clients.
